Studies on Cultural Soft Power is a peer-reviewed bimonthly journal (ISSN 2096-1987), supervised by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and sponsored by Wuhan University in collaboration with the National Institute for Cultural Development at Wuhan University. Since its launch in 2016, the journal has established a significant global presence in the field of cultural soft power studies. As of 2024, it holds an impact factor of 0.52, ranking first among academic journals in China dedicated to the research of cultural soft power.

Focusing on the theoretical construction and practical innovation in the field of culture and tourism, the journal has set up the following topics: “Public Culture and Cultural Services”, “Cultural Industry and Cultural Management”, “Cultural Rule of Law and Cultural Security”, “Cultural Exchange and Mutual Appreciation of Civilizations”, “Traditional Culture and Cultural Innovation”, “Industrial Heritage and Science and Technology Power”, “Academic News and Book Review”. “Cultural Exchange and Mutual Appreciation of Civilizations”, ‘Traditional Culture and Cultural Innovation’, ‘Industrial Heritage and Science and Technology Power’, ”Academic News and Book Review “It aims to provide a diversified platform for academic exchanges, promote academic research and practical exploration in this field, and serve the construction of national cultural soft power.

It is an Accession journal of the Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Journal AMI Comprehensive Evaluation. Papers published in this journal are included in various databases and platforms, such as the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, and National Social Sciences Database.

 

 

Scope of Manuscript Submissions

 

1.Research on the relationship between culture and institutions across different countries and civilizations;

2.Studies addressing contemporary issues related to Chinese culture;

3.Research on cultural heritage and the cultural industries;

4.Investigations into cultural institutions, cultural diplomacy, and the role of culture in addressing the challenges of human development;

5.Historical analyses of the relationship between culture and politics in ancient times;

6.Interpretations of fundamental concepts related to culture;

7.Studies exploring the relationship between culture and urban, rural, and other territorial spaces;

8.From time to time, the journal also publishes a limited number of book reviews, interviews, or commemorative articles (constituting less than 10% of the journal’s content). These pieces are typically published by invitation and are not subject to peer review.

 

Our Funding Source

 

1. At present, we do not accept advertising cooperation, the journal and the official website of the journal and other locations will not publish any commercial advertisements, the introduction of new books published in the journal are the public welfare recommendation of recent important works in this field, selected by the editorial board and do not accept any commercial cooperation. The journal does not have any advertising revenue.

 

2. Revenue derived from subscription sales through postal channels and knowledge-sharing platforms accounts for less than 1% of the journal's total income. And the journal's currently authorized full-text publishing platform (in addition to the journal's WeChat publishing platform): cnki.netncpssd.cncqvip.comwanfang.com.

 

3. The journal's operations are almost entirely funded by government grants designated for academic publishing within public universities, which constitutes virtually its sole source of financial support.

 

 

4. The journal does not impose any submission, peer review, or article processing charges (APCs) on authors. On the contrary, contributing authors are awarded an honorarium and provided with a complimentary copy of the issue in which their work appears. Should you encounter any claims suggesting that the journal levies fees on authors, please report such information to the relevant authorities without delay.
